This week we went on a tour of our new Middle School and Welcome center to see the progress. In the slideshow above you will see Ryan Cardoos, Nauset Construction Superintendent and some representatives from the MetroWest Daily News exploring various elements, from the original tavern that were kept in place amongst the renovations.
Some of the historical pieces shown have been in place since 1748, when the tavern was initially constructed. You will also be able to view the original foundation and then some “archaeological” find that were discovered on the build site! Some of these include a newspaper from the 1950s, a child’s shoe, cast iron fire pokers, door knobs, and even old pottery.
Our friends at the MetroWest did an extensive survey of the site and will be posting about the job this Friday as well as a follow up article next week! Click this link to go to their site to view it.
