The students in the Children’s House were visited today by Dr. Shruti Panjini, a parent in our community and dentist in Wellesley.
The children were educated with a demonstration on the different effects of foods and substances to teeth. This was shown to the children by soaking hardboiled eggs in different liquids which collected various coatings. The liquids used were water, grape juice, and soda.
The students were given the soaked eggs along with a toothbrush and tooth paste. They were then instructed to brush off the color coating. This made it easy for them to see just how hard it can be to get different substances off and to be mindful of their own choices.
Students were all given a new toothbrush, toothpaste and floss to take home show what they had learned!
