Riverbend Begins Renovation of Historic Morse Tavern

Riverbend School has begun renovation of the historic Peletiah Morse Tavern which includes rebuilding the attached wing to create new classroom spaces, as well as a Welcome Center for prospective Riverbend School families.

The renovated Tavern, located at 33 Eliot Street, will include two large instructional spaces for Middle School academics that will better accommodate Science and Math instruction. It will also include a large multi-purpose space that will accommodate the school’s Music program. By moving the Middle School to the Tavern, the Upper Elementary gains additional classroom space in their Memorial Hall location. All of these updates will allow for expansions across many Riverbend School programs for current and prospective students and create a dedicated gallery space for children’s artwork! The project is scheduled to be complete late fall 2017.

The school continues to work closely with the Town of Natick, the Historic District Commission and other town boards to make sure that all of the changes are supported and have continuity with the surrounding architecture.
