Field Day at Riverbend
Our Kindergarten through 8th grade field day was a special day, in which each student showed great spirit and rose to the occasion. Each team began their journey together by gathering in a classroom were they familiarized with one another and decorated their team “swag” while coming up with creative cheers. The students were then challenged by races that not only tested there strength and stamina but also their mental vigor. There was a great range of activities such as knee-balloon racing that had students laughing out loud and trying to keep balance, a “mission impossible” race, where students were on a scooter and had to pull themselves through the course with a rope, along with a memory race where they copied block patterns. While working as a team the students adapted quickly to these challenges and were able to devise many interesting and innovative ways to accomplish the goals. All in all, we had an amazing day together starting new traditions and celebrating old ones.
