Cricket on Campus
Yesterday the Riverbend Cricket Club received some excellent tips from Donald Crawshaw, a native South African cricket player. Donald has been playing cricket since he was a boy and shared with our team many stories about his up brining in South Africa and how influential cricket is there. He also taught the students terms of the game and their origins, such as a “Jaffa” and a “Sandshoe crusher”. Donald also gave a comprehensive lesson on the proper batting stance and bowling varieties. This was a wonderful introduction to the sport and we look forward to having Donald coming back later this spring to continue enhancing our cricket abilities!
