Kindergarten Extension (Egg–cellent Engineering)

This week our Kindergarteners joined Ms. Sundstrom and Mrs. Bracken in conducting a NEW EGG science experiment. They performed an egg–cellent engineering exercise. K students tested the strength of a nature arch shape: the shell of an egg. The children stacked book after book on a platform supported by a single egg to test its strength. The shell held up 25 books before breaking! Our Kindergarten friends walked away from the experiment with a whole new appreciation for eggs and the shape of an arch.
